WASHING TIPS

Tip 1

Avoid the tumble dryer: the high temperatures are harder on the fabric, so skipping it keeps the clothes looking lovely for longer!

Tip 2

For clothes in different colours, it is best to use a colour catcher sheet. That way you can wash mixed loads without colours running. You can find them in any supermarket.

Tip 3

Check the care label carefully. If the garment contains wool, use a wool detergent and a dedicated wash programme.

Tip 4

Maintain your washing machine regularly by running an empty hot wash. This prevents a build-up of residue and keeps your clothes and laundry free of unwanted stains.

Tip 5

Bubble mixture can cause stubborn stains on clothes. Rinse clothes that came into contact with bubble mixture thoroughly under running water before putting them in the
washing machine.

If bubble mixture residue mixes with detergent, it can cause stains that won't come out.

Grandma's tricks for stains

Green soap (or Marseille soap)

This technique is ideal for grease stains, mud and food stains. Rub the stain with moistened soap, leave it to work for a while and rinse or wash normally.

For blood stains

Hold it under running ice-cold water for a long time and you will notice that the stains will gradually disappear.

Lemon juice

Sweat, fruit and rust don't stand a chance against lemon juice. Rub the lemon juice on the stain, put the garment in the sun to enhance the effect, then wash.
